The recent implementation by the Kenyan Immigration Department (KID) of meetings to review newly received cases is currently causing delays in the processing of Entry Permit applications.
The KID has started scheduling these review meetings as a measure to reduce corruption in the Immigration Sector. Review sessions are supposed to take place twice a month, but in November already one of these meetings was cancelled due to a lack of attendance by the required staff members. No meetings have yet been scheduled for December or thereafter; all applications submitted since the last meeting in November are therefore on hold until a new meeting is taking place.
Note that Investor Sector permits are exempt from having to go through these review meetings and are therefore the only new applications being processed as normal.
